2003, color pencil, watercolor, graphite and collage on rives, 30x40 inches.

Another old one. This was done shortly after my discovery of comic artist David Mack [link] , when I wanted to cram text and collage into everything I did. This drawing is so loaded with symbolism that when I took it out of storage, it took me a while to remember what all the iconography stood for. Also, her head's too big. And so are her eyes. And they're set too high on her face. But at least the colors are all pretty and shit.

EDITED ON 5/11/05: The face was bothering me so much that I went back and fixed it. I'm INFINITELY more satisfied with this drawing now. You can see the old version here [link] to see what I mean.

This is incredible. I could stare at it for hours and still find new meaning and symbolism hidden.

I also am impressed that it is a drawing. It looks very much like a combination of collage, digital and traditional painting. I agree that her head is a little large and the eyes somewhat misplaced, but I have to say that this only adds to the incredibly strong message that radiates from this peice.

Thanks! I think you may be happier with this thing than I am. :lol: All this time and I didn't notice the errors until I was able to look at it on a computer screen (which can be pretty unforgiving, like a camera adding ten pounds). It'll continue to make me cringe until the day I die now. Yech.

Okay, I can't stop staring at this one.. there's just so much to discover! (that sounds really hokey, doesn't it?)
Ah well. Wonderful colours, composition, & symbolism.. and I really love that warning message. :)
